Baby TIme! 11:43pm 7/29/2016
Elise went into labor at 3:30am Friday morning. I took the day off work, we hung out around the house, got bubble tea, chilled at the lake for a couple hours, stopped by Elizabeth Station for some celebratory wine, and then headed in to Birthroot Birthing Center around 8pm.
Elise did amazing! And so did our little girl!
Baby was sitting so low, the cervix was extremely hard to check because it was pushed toward the back.. Which made for an immense deal of pain, calling for an epidural at the hospital. Around 11pm. We drove 5 minutes over to St. Joseph's and before the epidural was ready, our midwife (who met us at the hospital) leaned over to me and said, "look, that's her head - she's ready to come out now." The nurses and doctors were busy doing other stuff, and then Elise just started pushing! Everyone quickly realized what was going on, and 18 minutes later, our baby girl was here! We had only been at the hospital for 30 minutes before Elise was holding Seven on her breast.
We had a few names we hadn't decided on, one of them being Seven, another being Islay.
They weighed her in at 7 lb. 7 oz. - that was cool. Then we named her.
Meet Seven Islay
This above is me as a newborn. = )
What a gift. We are thankful.
